Is the HDL300 system compatible with the Shure® P300 IntelliMix® Audio Conferencing Processor?

Nureva® Console client
Last Updated: December 22nd, 2022

Nureva has determined that the Shure® P300 IntelliMix® Audio Conferencing Processor will work with the HDL300 and Dual HDL300 when configured as shown in this article.

Nureva Console client settings

  • Connect the PoE cable (provided) to the RJ45-1 port on the connect module to the rear port on the HDL300 system
  • Plug in the 54VDC power supply
  • Connect a laptop to the connect module using the USB-A to USB-B cable (provided)
  • Download and run Nureva Console client
  • Register the HDL300 system following the on-screen instructions
    • From the left-hand menu, select System Information
    • If a firmware update is available, click on Update
  • In Nureva Console client, under
    • Device settings
    • Auxiliary ports
      • Change to Mic level
      • Ensure Sleep Mode is set to Off
  • Disconnect the connect module from your laptop and remove the USB cable.

Creating custom cables

  • Purchase a third-party mic-level balance signal converter (Nureva recommends Rapco's LTIGLBLOX converter).
  • Cable 1: Prepare an XLR 3-pin connector to Euroblock 3-conductor terminal block to as positive (+), negative () and ground (G) as described in the Shure User Manual.
  • Cable 2: Prepare a 3.5mm (3-pole) jack connector to Euroblock 3-conductor terminal block with the three pins positive (+), negative (), and ground (G) per Nureva Auxiliary jack connection.

On the Connect Module

  1. Connect the LTIGLBLOX 3.5mm jack pigtail to the Aux out port.
  2. Connect Cable 2 to the Aux in port

On the Shure processor

  1. Plug Cable 1 between the LTIGBLOX XLR Balanced Output port to the Euroblock connector  Input - Channel 1
  2. Plug Cable 2 Euroblock connector into Output - Channel 1
  3. Use an Ethernet cable (CAT5e or higher) to connect the P300 to the Network
    • NOTEIf using a Network switch, it must be rated to provide Power-over-Ethernet Plus (PoE+)
  4. Download and install the Shure Device Discovery application
  5. Open the Shure Device Discovery application
    1. Double-click the device to open the web application.
    2. Under Settings
      • Set Audio - Out and select Aux level (0 dBV)
      • Set Audio – In and select Aux level (-10 dBV)
    3. Disable any audio processing, including
      • AEC (acoustic echo cancellation)
      • Shure noise reduction
      • Automatic gain control & IntelliMix automatic mixing

NOTE: Shure also leverages the Dante Domain Controller (DDC) device manager. To use this versatile device manager, download and install Dante Controller Software and then create connections with other Dante-ready devices to create a seamless centralized room management user interface.

Connection Diagram

NOTE: The Nureva Aux In / Out connections are single-ended, unbalanced signals with default maximum output signals as given in the table below. Any equipment requiring voltages below these levels may result in clipping, distortion, and in extreme cases, damage to connected systems. Equipment requiring voltages above these levels will not be adequately driven by the HDL300 system’s output signal and may result in quiet / no audio on the channel. Before connecting to the Nureva Connect Module, ensure the third-party device voltage levels are adequate or adjusted properly by additional interfacing hardware.

NOTE: When using the Rapco direct-inject (DI) converter, if you experience a hum or buzz during a call, you may need to toggle the GRND - LIFT switch to account for possible Earth or ground loops.
