HDL310 and HDL410 remote control

Functions and IR transmitter codes
Last Updated: May 9th, 2023

The remote control allows users to:

  • Answer and end calls
  • Adjust the call volume
  • Mute and unmute the call
  • Adjust the LED display brightness on the microphone and speaker bar.

NOTE: The remote control cannot be used to start a call.

Using the remote control

To operate correctly, the remote control for the system needs to be pointed at the center of the integrated microphone and speaker bar directly above the LED indicators where the infrared sensor is located (the infrared sensor itself is not visible on the unit). The sensitivity of the infrared detection drops off once the angle approaches within 45 degrees to the front surface of the bar, although may work down to 25-30° in most instances.

If the system is not responding to the remote control at this range, consider replacing the batteries.

With an HDL410 system, there are two integrated microphone and speaker bars. The remote can be pointed at either of these bars for operation.

Call answer and call end

When the remote control “call answer” or “call end” (hang-up) button is pressed, the remote will send a command to the computer, which will be interpreted by the UC&C application and the call will be answered/ended.

NOTEThe call answer/end buttons are not compatible with some platforms such as WebEx and GoToMeeting.

Mute button and indicator

When the remote control Mute button is pressed, the remote will send a command to the computer, which will be interpreted by the UC&C application and the call will be muted.

NOTEThe call mute button may not function the same with other platforms such as WebEx and GoToMeeting. For example, if the user mutes the microphone through the WebEx software, the system status LED may not turn red to indicate the call is muted (see our What do the LEDs on the integrated microphone and speaker bar mean? article).

Volume up and volume down

When using the remote control, increasing or decreasing the volume will reflect the volume changes on the computer's master volume control. This will work the same on all applications that are loaded on the computer.

Remote control recalibration

It's possible to initiate a recalibration by pressing a sequence with the remote control buttons. The sequence is

  1. Press F4 five times in quick succession

A single blue light will appear on the microphone and speaker bar

  1. Press the Mute button on the remote

The HDL410 will enter recalibration mode

Remote control codes

The remote control uses the NEC infrared transmission protocol, which specifies a carrier frequency of 38kHz. If an infrared (IR) blaster (transmitter) is used to control the system, then the following codes can be programmed.

NOTE: The F2, F3 and F4 buttons may not have an assigned function for some Nureva devices.
