Connection diagrams and configuration information
Last Updated: August 16th, 2021

The Lenovo ThinkSmart Hub 500 is an all-in-one integrated solution with a table touch panel that is capable of rotating 360 degrees. The unit also has integrated microphones and speakers, but the HDL300 system can be chosen to become the default playback and recording device. Follow the instructions below to learn how.

Connecting the systems

Connect the HDL300 system's connect module USB cable to one of the three available USB-A ports on the Levono ThinkSmart I/O panel.

Configuring the default device

  1. From the ThinkSmart hub home screen, click the gear icon in the bottom-right corner

  1. Select Settings
  2. Click Go to Admin Sign-in

  1. A prompt will appear, requesting administrator credentials.
  2. Sign on as an administrator to open the regular Windows™ 10 taskbar
  3. Go to the Windows Start menu → Settings → Sound
  4. Within the sound control pop-up window, select Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (HDL300) and make it the default audio "Playback" device

  1. Set the Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (HDL300) to the default "Recording" device
  2. If available, also make "Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (HDL300)" the default communication device
  3. Click Apply
  4. Click OK
  5. Restart the ThinkSmart hub

Configure Skype™ for Business

  1. From the ThinkSmart hub home screen, click the gear icon in the bottom-right corner
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Select Features

  1. Configure the following:
Microphone for Conferencing: Echo Cancelling Device (HDL300)
Speaker for Conferencing: Echo Cancelling Device (HDL300)
Default speaker: Echo Cancelling Device (HDL300)
  1. Click Next
  2. Click Save

NOTE: The default ThinkSmart HUB admin password is “sfb” (without quotation marks). For typical day-to-day usage, the Administrator credentials are not needed - the Admin account is only used for device management

NOTE: The Nureva® Aux In / Out connections are single-ended, unbalanced signals with default maximum output signals as given in the table below. Any equipment requiring voltages below these levels may result in clipping, distortion and, in extreme cases, damage to connected systems. Equipment requiring voltages above these levels will not be adequately driven by the HDL300 system’s output signal and may result in quiet / no audio on the channel. Before connecting to the Nureva Connect Module, make sure the third-party device voltage levels are adequate or adjusted properly by additional interfacing hardware.
