The Span Workspace software updates process is automated and does not require user or administrator permission. When there is an update available, the user will be notified upon opening Span Workspace. The update will then begin automatically.
If a notification appears explaining the update has failed, the user will be redirected to a browser. The browser will initiate downloading the Nureva Span Workspace installer. The user should then run the installer to manually apply the update. This manual update will require administrator credentials to complete.
If your Span Workspace is more than one version behind (in other words, an update was missed) the user will be prompted to do a manual update.
By design, Span Workspace does not require administrator credentials to update. If your system is prompting you for administrator credentials, contact your IT department to make sure there are no advanced security settings that are blocking the update.
If you're still having issues, try uninstalling and reinstalling Span Workspace from the Nureva Downloads page. During the install process, the user will be asked for administrator credentials. Once these have been entered once, Windows® should recognize Span Workspace as an administrator-approved program and allow future updates to install automatically.
