Setting up an extended desktop display

For a Nureva Wall with only one PC and multiple displays, configure your system so canvases spread across all displays.

If your Nureva Wall has a single PC and a second display (2:1 system), follow these steps to set up an extended desktop. This allows you to launch the Span Workspace and work on your canvases across two displays.

If your Nureva Wall has two or more PCs, follow the steps in the article Linking displays to launch the software across the displays.

Confirm all of the displays are set to the same resolution

  1. Right-click on your desktop and select Display settings from the menu. Depending on which version of Windows you are running, you may need to navigate to the advanced settings.
  2. Go to the advanced settings and ensure all of the displays are set to the same resolution.
  3. Save any changes

Confirm the displays are configured correctly

  1. Right-click on your desktop and select Display settings from the menu. Depending on which version of Windows you are running, you may need to navigate to the advanced settings.
  2. Ensure the displays are set correctly as primary and secondary
  3. Ensure the displays are arranged in a straight line. If a display is shown as being higher or lower, move them into alignment.
  1. Save any changes

Once you have made these changes, Span wall software should open across all of the displays the next time you launch it.

Leaving out one display

If you have three or more displays to one PC and would like Span Workspace to extend to only two of the displays...

  1. In a file browser on your PC, navigate to the file C:\ProgramData\Nureva Span\SpanAppSettings.xml
  2. Right-click on the file and select Open with...
  3. Choose Notepad as the program to open the file with. You might have to click More apps... before Notepad appears as an option.
  4. Change all instances of
<StretchAcrossAllDisplays>True</StretchAcrossAllDisplays>

to "false"

  1. Go to File → Save
  2. Close Notepad
  3. Launch the Span Workspace wall client. The software will only open across two displays.
